Your application period is 10/1-11/30 and you do NOT need any letters of recommendation or a personal
statement/essay. You must take the SAT or ACT to apply.
1. Log on to CSUmentor.org
2. Enter your grades in the online application from your transcript. Do not send your transcript unless requested.
3. Official SAT or ACT scores must be sent. Log onto to Collegeboard.com and ACT.org for instructions. For SAT
scores: use the SAT institution code 3594. CSUMentor will store your scores for ALL CSU campuses to utilize. For the ACT: all your schools have access to your score after you send it to one school.
4. Enter your college selections in Naviance.

Your application period is the month of November. You do NOT need any letters of recommendation. You DO need a personal statement/essay (note there are two). You must take the SAT or ACT and at least two SAT Subject Tests in different content areas to apply.

Common Application Schools
Deadline: Varies
The application period for common app schools VARIES GREATLY; pay attention to deadlines. You DO need letters of recommendation. You must take the SAT or ACT in most cases. SAT Subject Tests may also be required. Develop a spreadsheet to help you keep track of which of your selected schools require which tests. A spreadsheet with links to your schools, Collegeboard, Commonapp, ACT, etc along with usernames and websites is also very helpful.
1. Log onto CommonApp.org
2. Select your college(s) and follow instructions EXACTLY.
3. Log onto Naviance and list the college(s) you will be applying to before you submit your applications through CommonApp.org. Please note that many colleges that use the common application require supplements to be completed and submitted; allow sufficient time in your schedule to complete these with the same level of care that you apply to your essays.
4. Your counselor
will submit CDMHS's secondary school report form in lieu of the forms provided by your colleges. Please click on the appropriate
counselor at CDMHS.net's counseling link. Fill out the top portion of the form and submit it to your counselor with your letter
of recommendation packet.
5. If you need a teacher letter of recommendation: fill out the form available and give it to your teacher at least four weeks before the due date. Be sure to include stamped, addressed envelopes to the schools you need them sent to. If you need a counselor letter of recommendation: fill out the counselor packet and the the secondary school report form below, and turn it into your counselor at least four weeks before the due date. A link to PDF's for both the counselor and teacher packet are available at cdmhs.com under the counseling menu (see Letters of Recommendation in the left-hand side menu). Detailed instructions are provided.
